32 Weeks

It's incredible how fast everything seems to be going now! There are less than 8 weeks left now until we meet our precious boy and to be honest, I'm starting to get a little nervous!

Last Friday (the day I became officially 32 weeks prego), was the first time I felt contractions. This whole time I kept wondering when I was going to start experiencing Braxton Hicks, and when I finally started feeling them, I totally freaked out! I didn't know what to do . . . time them, call the doctor, head to the hospital? I was a mess mentally- though my friends who I had been hanging out with all day probably thought I was handling it well. Doug got home from work and I just let it all out. He listened, then tried to calm me down quickly (he was hungry), and then I went through all the possibilities with him again . . . how your water doesn't have to break to be in labor, 32 weeks is not too early to go in labor, we don't have a car seat yet, our hospital bag aren't packed, etc. His face quickly changed from smiley to "uh oh." After about 30 minutes, I had calmed down and I hadn't had any more Braxton Hicks in a while. All was well. It just gave me a good kick in the hiney to finally put together our hospital bags and find out when we would be getting the car seat we registered for.

At this point, Oliver is growing incredibly fast every single day, and takes up most of my belly, as the amniotic fluid has reached its maximum. He's getting stronger, which means his movements are very pronounced- so much so that when he's active, you can see it from across the room. He's still very fond of the right side of my belly, and if you put your hand on that side, you can feel either his head or his bottom (it's hard to tell which one). He naps regularly now, too, 30-45 minutes at a time.

How am I feeling? Tired. All the time. Sleeping at night has become hard and very inconsistent. Naps are a necessity and I definitely take advantage of them. My belly feels incredibly tight and I keep wondering how in the world I'm going to get bigger- but somehow its grown over an inch in the past two weeks. As of Sunday morning, I can no longer wear my wedding rings :(. And I've finally moved on from my Mexican food cravings to chili dogs, which I try to only eat once to twice a week. My other cravings are cuties (the baby oranges), fruit snacks, and frozen yogurt. Doing any sort of walking around for long periods of time- shopping included- is so exhausting and the back aches are slowly coming back.  So I've been trying to take it easy- grocery shopping gets done only when Doug is with me, and I try to spot a seat when I'm out shopping with friends or try to keep my errands quick.

My other project lately has been Ollie's nursery! It's still a work in progress, but the walls are almost completely painted the way I want them, the crib is the only piece of furniture lacking, art is ready to be hung on the wall, and there's even a small bookshelf/cubby with stuffed animals and books. Once it's done as best as possible, I will post pictures.
