So this past Monday we had a doctor's appointment and got to see our little boy again :) I had been so excited about this appointment because I didn't think we would get to see him again until he was born.
Here's what we found out:
- Oliver has HAIR on his little head- a bunch of it!
- He is still a boy :)
- He weighs 4.1 pounds
- He can open and close his eyes- and did so quite a few times for us.
- His heart rate is at 134
- He is breech (but still has plenty of time to change position)
- And he loves to curl up reaaaaaal tight- his hands AND feet were up by his face. I have no idea how that is comfortable . . .

And of course we took video.
After the doctor, we hung out around The Woodlands because we were going to tour the hospital that night. Let me just say, that I am IN LOVE with Memorial Herman in the The Woodlands- the staff seem very nice and funny, their policies totally fit my birth plan, and it seems more like a hotel than a sterile hospital. We had a huge group that took the tour with us and Doug couldn't stop giggling because he felt like we were in with a group of penguins, "So much waddling! This is great!" Both of us were really happy, though, and I know for me, at least, it was incredibly comforting to see where I would be delivering and how the hospital feels about natural birth. Some wonderful things I loved . . . they don't push you to get an epi, they strongly encourage breast feeding, the nurse has a phone on her at all times and you get her number first thing instead of having her paged, they have a birthing tub!!!!, baby stays in your room for everything (unless they need to be in the NICU), Doug can stay the night on a fold out couch, and they designate 2 hours everyday where they staff is not to enter your room so you can rest, bond, etc. I'm honestly not so nervous anymore about the labor- I'm actually excited!
So after asking lots of questions about contractions at the doctor's office, and seeing the hospital, I'm ready, and just praying the Ollie stays in, flips around in time, and delivers as a healthy baby boy in less than 8 weeks :)
