Well hellooooo second trimester!
Alright, so this is usually the time when all the gals who had morning sickness finally get relief, and thankfully since I never had it too bad (mostly just feeling nauseated), the difference between this week and weeks previous are subtle. My biggest annoyance with food aversions are starting to dwindle a bit. I was actually able to make dinner- a full on meat with two sides dinner! I think Doug was in shock. Haha.
This is also the time when all those fears of miscarriage are supposed to go away as well- which is a great thing, because I did worry a bit about that. I had one scare two weeks ago that ended up being nothing, but the worries that start to overtake your brain the moment you realize you've got a baby inside are overwhelming. I guess it's just a small introduction into the motherhood worries I'll have for the rest of this little one's life.
There's six weeks left until we find out the sex of the baby. Doug continues to call it a "he" and "his boy" constantly, while I keep having dreams about a little girl and seem to be stuck on girl names. We have one picked out already, and I definitely love it- those who we are close to us already know what it is. But you never know . . . there might be that one little girl's name out there that may fit better. My dad is also convinced it's a girl- every time I talk to him he says things like, "your daughter is going to have such a great personality" or "how is your little girl today." It's pretty cute. Doug's mom still swears it's a boy, because apparently, that's all the Jones' men have- boys, boys, boys. And it's true! I have yet to meet a girl on his side of the Jones family. I just think it would be neat to break the cycle :)
According to my piece of ribbon I use to measure my bump, I'm just a little over half an inch bigger than my 12 week mark. I keep hearing that I may be able to feel baby move soon, and several times throughout the day, I'll lay down, get really still and quiet and hope that some flutters will start to magically appear. Other than a bunch of gas bubbles, nothing yet. Haha.
