12 Weeks Preggers

12 weeks along, and things are getting interesting! Well, I'm sure there are way more interesting things to come, but the whole thing is really fascinating to me :)

This past Monday was my second doctor's appoinment, and I decided to take my mom along. We had made a trip to Chick-fil-a just as we left my house, and my bladder felt like it was going to explode about every 5 minutes. My mom kept laughing at me while we were waiting to go into the room at the doctor's, because even after I had given my urine sample, I had to go back to the bathroom three more times- and we only waited maybe ten minutes. I found out that all my blood work came back normal, which means no weird things to worry about so far, and my blood type is O+. The doctor then went right to business, "Let's hear that heartbeat!" I lay down, lifted my shirt, and waited for the doc to move around his little device that would allow us to hear the baby. I couldn't help but watch his face as he tried to find out where the little one was. We would hear a faint heartbeat every now and then, but weren't sure because it was so short and soft. After about 6 or 7 minutes, the doc decided to grab a different device, thinking maybe the one he was using was going out. However, it wasn't his equipment that was being tricky, it was my baby! We found out after another 5 minutes that baby didn't want to be found. Each time the device would press down on where baby was, little one would move. A little game of chase. So really, I only got to hear the heartbeat for a few seconds at most, but it was enough to make me smile the rest of the day.

I've been doing pretty well with weight; I think I've gained maybe 4 or five pounds so far. Honestly, I think most of those pounds were the pizzas I scarfed down those first 6 weeks. My stomach is not nearly as quesy anymore, no morning sickness at all, and my energy is back up. The biggest annoyance, though, is that my desire for a variety of foods is dwindeling fast. The only meat I like is chicken- just the smell of hamburger makes me gag. Eggs are still out of the question, as well as tuna, broccoli, beans, and my once favorite- brussel sprouts. It all kinda limits my ability to cook dinner, and thankfully Doug doesn't seem to mind much, but I really hope I don't get tired of chicken anytime soon!

Clothes are starting to get tight, and so far, I have been able to cut my wardrobe almost in half. There are three pairs of jeans that I can still wear, except two of them can't be buttoned. Many t-shirts, dresses, and skirts were shoved in a bag under my bed, and I know that there will be more that join them soon enough. I'm on a mission to find clothes that can be worn with leggings during and post pregnancy. Thankfully, I have friends who have donated their maternity clothes graciously, and Ross is stocked full of really cute stuff at a good price.

Oh! Also, Doug FINALLY got a car, well truck, so I get my car back, and HOOOOOORAY, I'm no longer caged in the house! The plan is to find a job while I'm pregnant to make some money for wood floors in the house and other many things I want to decorate. Hopefully something will come up soon before my belly makes things complicated during interviews. Pretty sure I can get away with hiding it now, but that won't last long.
