My Girls Need Sponsors

I am SO excited to talk about sponsoring one of my beautiful girls in Zambia!!!

These precious girls need sponsors to help them feel loved, by supporting them with an education, mentorship, food, and most importantly, prayers! All of my girls live in a community called Kanyama, which is a very dangerous area full of witchcraft and Satanism. Currently, all but two of them attend community schools, but they are not getting a true education. The community schools are very small buildings run by one or two teachers and teach hundreds of kids at one time from all different ages in a room meant for 30 people. Many don't have desks or books, and consequently, the children just aren't learning the information they need to flourish and move forward in their lives.

Family Legacy offers an amazing opportunity to help these children, providing BOTH a school, where they can receive a real education, AND a community area, where they will receive discipleship and security. The schools, called Lifeway Christian Academies (LCAs) are new to Lusaka, and are quickly being built in all the communities. The teachers are carefully interviewed and trained to work with the children, teaching them the Zambian curriculum, as well as, the Word of the Bible. The children will sit at new desks, receive new books, and be taught at their grade level in a classroom with a low student to teacher ratio. The community areas are called Community Resource Centers (CRCs) and they provide the children with a loving, safe environment. The CRCs are located in a central location within the village, open 24/7 and is surrounded by walls. The children can come to the CRC anytime, anyday and know that they will be safe, receive love, and also be able to read, study, and learn. It is a safe haven for the children who are abused daily, and are constantly treated as if they are worth nothing.

In Kanyama, where my beautiful girls are, the LCA and the CRC are withing walking distance! I talked with them about it when I was in Zambia, and we actually had lunch at the CRC when I was there. My girls talked so much about wanting access to both the CRC and the LCA, as they had heard so much about it from the children in the community who were sponsored. My heart felt pulled, as I wanted to just pay for all of them to go right then and there. Unfortunately, I can't do that, and honestly, I would love it even more if my friends and family had the opportunity to know my girls as well as I know them.

This is the incredible part . . .

To sponsor one of my girls, which would gain them access to the CRC and the LCA, it costs a mere $40 a month!!!!

Yep, that's it! It blows my mind how inexpensive that is, considering how much my girls will receive from it! The money each month is tax-deductible and by sponsoring them, you build a relationship with the child- writing letters back and forth, sending pictures, and you even have an opportunity to go on a Father's Heart trip and visit their home!!! Plus, the money also goes towards food and basic necessities, health monitoring, tutoring, and even economic assistance for their caretakers.

Please pray about this, and talk to your family and friends. So far, four of my girls are sponsored, and nine more are waiting. If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to email me! Stephlmc@gmail.com
